A Note of Gratitude
Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude. It's also a time of community. As we gather around the table with family and friends this season, we're all reflecting on what brings us joy and gratitude. At AcuBoston, we're thankful to you, our loyal patients, for continuing to entrust us with your well-being and healing. We're also deeply grateful for your enthusiasm and support as we’ve continued to grow our business at the AcuBoston Dedham location and bring Community Style Acupuncture to so many people. When we work in community with one another, great things are possible. Thank you for being a part of our community.

The Weather Outside Is Frightful, But the Infrared Sauna Is So Delightful!

Feel the chill of winter melt away as you bask in the comforting heat of our infrared sauna, now conveniently available in Brookline every Monday and select Saturdays.

For the uninitiated (or simply curious), infrared saunas harness the power of invisible light and offer a distinctive and relaxing twist to the traditional sauna experience. Instead of steam or flame-stoked heat, infrared saunas use infrared lamps and electromagnetic magic to create warmth. The process allows infrared saunas to operate at a lower temperature while providing therapeutic benefits.

Benefits of infrared sauna that banish winter blues:

💗 Elevate heart health
💪 Melt away muscle soreness
🩹 Bid farewell to pain
🌬️ Immerse in ultimate relaxation
😴 Drift into improved sleep
🛡️ Fortify your immune system

Secure your escape with 30-, 45-, or 60-minute slots by reserving online or calling us at 617-860-2039. Email our practice manager, Danny, at danny@acuboston.com or text him directly at 617-308-3165 to request an appointment outside of regular hours.

Chinese Medicine in the Kitchen - Say What?

Speaking of herbal medicine, have you ever considered that you may have unknowingly practiced Chinese herbal medicine in your own kitchen?

It’s true! If you’ve ever made the hallmark winter dish —homemade chicken soup — you’ve practiced Chinese herbal medicine!

A perennial remedy for banishing the chill or alleviating winter illness symptoms, chicken soup is effortlessly crafted using readily available store-bought ingredients. Feel free to use all organic ingredients for an extra boost!

Ingredients:

  • Whole roasted chicken from your favorite supermarket

  • 1 onion (peeled and quartered)

  • 1 garlic bulb (top cut off)

  • 2 inches of ginger

  • 1 bunch of parsley and dill

  • 1 stalk of celery

  • 1 rough-chopped carrot

  • Spices: black peppercorns, bay leaf, star of anise, salt to taste

Recipe:

Debone the roasted chicken, setting aside boneless, skinless pieces.

Place bones and all ingredients in a pot, cover with a gallon of water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 hours. Strain the broth.

Sauté cut-up carrots, onions, and celery (a mirepoix mix), then add the saved chicken pieces and the freshly made broth.

Cook on low heat for about 20 minutes.

Serve with rice, noodles, or matzo balls—the sky is the limit!
