ACUPUNCTURE FOR HEALTH & WELLNESS

acupuncture

Our busy 24/7 modern day living pushes our body and mind to the limit. We keep going, always on, always working, eating on the go, worrying about our families, jobs, and finances. We push through the pain, don’t take sick days, and act as if we are immortal. As a result, the incidence of high blood pressure, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, auto-immune disorders, anxiety, depression, insomnia are all on the rise.

We are lucky to live in the country where we have access to top notch diagnostic medicine, but not everything can be fixed with a pill or surgery. Some successful Western treatments have side effects that are difficult to bear. There are also times when patients feel horribly sick and all western medicine tests tell them that there is nothing is wrong with them.

That is where Traditional Chinese Medicine can be of tremendous help. Our bodies have an amazing capacity for self-healing. Acupuncture can help tap into your body’s ability to do so.

Here is what to expect from your treatments

As a rule of thumb, acute problems resolve faster than chronic ones. If you have a long standing chronic condition, your body has been stressed by it for a very long time and it will take some time to bring your body into balance and harmony.

1

All treatments are customized, but typically a series of 12 weekly acupuncture treatments are scheduled for a diagnosis. You should expect to see some positive changes in your body in 2-3 treatments, with a bigger shift towards health after 4-6 treatments. As you start feeling better, we may decide to space your treatments farther apart.

COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE

community acupuncture

Community acupuncture is the practice of treating patients together in a large room. This differs from traditional acupuncture where treatment is administered in a private room setting.

Our community acupuncture space features 4 zero gravity chairs and 2 massage beds, all set 4-6 feet apart from each other.

The model for community acupuncture mirrors how acupuncture was originally practiced and also how it is still practiced in many Asian countries today.

Many acupuncture clinics in the USA have adopted a community acupuncture model to make treatment more accessible and affordable.

Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits.

  • Friends and families may seek treatment together as many patients find it comforting to be with a group instead of in a private session
  • Treatment in a group setting establishes a common healing space, an energetic field that's been shown to make individual treatments more powerful.

Each patient receives an individualized acupuncture treatment that addresses their specific needs. The atmosphere is quiet and meditative, with many falling asleep once their needles are in.

Community acupuncture also allows greater access by its affordability. AcuBoston-Dedham's fees will be priced as follows:
$25-$45 sliding scale, no proof of income required / hardship rate: $10.
[If you like your first treatment and want to save even more, buy a package of 10 treatments for $220]

Community acupuncture offers a beautiful way to seek rest and healing no matter where you are in your acupuncture journey.

Healing, Healthy Heat

Unlike traditional unbearably hot, steamy and hard to breathe in saunas, modern infrared saunas provide a soothing, healthy heat that helps eliminate toxins and supports the healing process. Sunlighten infrared technology brings forth a therapeutic treatment that is not only relaxing but also clinically shown to be beneficial for your health.

What is Infrared?

Infrared is a natural part of the invisible sun’s light spectrum with no harmful UV rays associated with unprotected sunlight. Infrared is safe, healthy and beneficial because of its ability to penetrate the tissues without burning and heat the body directly at the core resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where the majority of toxins reside. The gentle infrared heat is used in hospitals to warm newborn infants.

Health Benefits

Detoxification:

Toxins such as sodium, alcohol, nicotine, cholesterol and carcinogenic heavy metals accumulate in the body during modern daily life. Studies have shown that FIR (Far InfraRed) raises core body temperature stimulating the sweat glands resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat ridding the body of toxins.

Pain Relief:

Infrared light can help expand blood vessels and increase circulation allowing more oxygen to reach injured areas of the body resulting in reduced pain and a faster healing process.

Anti-Aging:

Infrared light improves circulation, expels dirt & chemicals and removes dead cells on the surface of the skin resulting in a soft, clear complexion.

Increase Cell Health & Boost Immunity:

Infrared light helps improve cell health and enhance muscle recovery.

Cardiovascular:

During a 10-20 minute sauna session, heart rate increases by 50-75% which provides the same metabolic result as physical exercise. There is a nominal effect on blood pressure because the heat also causes blood vessels in skin to expand to accommodate increased blood flow.
